Chris Walla

'Tha Walla' happened to get himself a studio, the Hall of Justice, right at the time that Sean Nelson and John Roderick were looking for a place to record some songs. He produced the first album The Worst You Can Do Is Harm, and part of the second album When I Pretend to Fall, and might have been part of the band if he hadn't been too busy with his own band, Death Cab For Cutie. Read John's and Sean's memories of those recording sessions for Harm on the Long Winters website.
Ken Stringfellow

Singer/songwriter Ken Stringfellow was looking for a backing band for touring his solo album Touched, hired the Long Winters and got them to play support as well. Then the next year when Chris Walla did not have the time to finish production on the second Long Winters album When I Pretend to Fall, Ken stepped up to the challenge and brought his own unique touch.
He is known to play not just one but two Long Winters covers in his solo shows sometimes. Check out his website, kenstringfellow.com, or the Posies website for more of his own wonderful music.
The Long Horns

The horn section that played with the band on several occasions. Its members are Charles Beene: trumpet, Nate Henry: tenor sax and Marty MacPont: baritone sax, bass sax.
